Do you want the absolute truth? Okay, here it is: There are some things that you will never be ready for. Yep, you heard it from me (read, actually). I truly realized this when my dad passed. I will never be ready to live my life without him. And like falling dominoes, so many other things come with this recent truth. So many milestones and new mountains that I won't ever be ready to face without my daddy. Mmmkay, want to know something else? You have to anyway. Uh huh... you
Hey y’all... Happy Sunday evening! I hope your day was awesome and that your week will start off greater than you’ve planned. It’s been a while, almost two months, but I’m here with a couple things to share. Per usual... Ehem... so, most people close to me know that I don’t typically use my dishwasher to wash my dishes. Nope, I hand wash them and I only use the dishwasher for air drying (say what you want). Anyhoo, absolutely nothing wrong with them, I’ve just always been thi
So, I’ve decided that I don’t need to be lazy any longer (eye roll) and that I need to resume my workouts. Uh Huh….. mmmkay. I pulled out my favorite workout DVD set, “TurboFire.” As I got into the workout, I was feeling pretty good. But toward the end, I got a bit winded. Now, any of you that know anything about Chalene Johnson (creator of the workout), you know that she yells “YOU’RE NOT TIRED!” throughout the workout to remind you not to quit. Well, I was at the point that
Hey y’all!!! Yes… yes… I know it’s beyond bedtime AND the time changed on me AND tomorrow is Sunday, which means CHUUUURRRRCH!!! I am SO EXHAUSTED… but the good kind, you know what I’m talkin about, don’t you? When you praise God so long and He wrecks your life so good that now you’re worn out completely? Yep… that kind. Anyhoo… I can’t sleep, but I’m sure that after this post I’ll sleep soundly and wake up feelin AMAZING for church! Okay, so, here’s my pitch…………

My point is that your family has a purpose!!! That’s why the enemy fights so hard to tear you apart. God has an assignment for you to fulfill as a unit that cannot be completed individually. So yes, your children may be acting out and your spouse may seem to pick or fights or seem distant but don’t lash out and PLEASE don’t give up; instead, PRAY, FAST! Go to war for them and with them, instead of against them. You must recognize that you are dealing with spirits that ar
Today, I went to wor The thing about it is, I don’t “feel” busy. And by that, I mean that with ALL THE STUFF THAT I DO (if I listed everything off, you’d ask me if I had or needed an assistant or two, or twelve), I’m never exhausted, I ENJOY what I do, and most times, I feel like I have plenty of time in my day to get it all done. Now, of course I have tired days and spaces where I get crunched for time, but I’m not overwhelmed or frazzled. It hasn’t always been this way. And
So…..a couple weeks ago, I was at work and one of the girls I work with had some chicken and fries from this chicken joint in town. You know those places….. the chicken wings are AMAZING but you know they fry EVERYTHING in the same grease (**debate me**). Anyhoo…… since discovering that I’m gluten intolerant, I can’t eat food from those places anymore (or most places, it seems). They reek havoc on my ENTIRE LIFE….. or at least my digestive system. Well, I ATE THE FRIES!!!
A few weeks ago, my brother preached a message on the Church of Corinth. He spoke on how, although Paul went in and planted “good seeds” with the teachings of Christ, others came in and uprooted all that they’d been taught and then planted seeds of false doctrine. He talked about how this false teaching began to take root in the people of the church, causing them not to know the truth. Toward the end of service, he stated that there were some people that God had to go in and
So…..the other day, after an unnecessary hiatus, I started running AGAIN! You: “Yay!!! Congrats…I’m so proud of you!!!” Me: “OMGosh…thank you so much!” LOL! Mmmkay…..as I was leaving out of my apartment, I was trying to figure out what I needed to do once I got back home. I could barely lock my door because I was racking my brain, thinking about my next task. Liiiiikkkkke, I hadn’t even made it out of my apartment building and I was making a mental to-do list (on top of th
Today…is Tuesday, September 12th. And, on today, I didn’t have ANY coffee, today of ALL DAYS…I didn’t have ANY coffee. Like, I even woke up in a slight daze and I walked past my coffee pot and didn’t even say “hello”. I forgot to eat breakfast, and I couldn’t figure out what pants to wear (sassy or fancy…j/k). As I was BUT…..BEFORE ALL OF THIS OCCURRED…..before I missed my coffee or locked my keys in my car or even ate the cereal, I woke up and thanked God for another day
I.….am carrying an elephant! It’s heavy, huge, and I’ve been carrying it for a while now. I’ve decided to name her Ellie (cute huh?) I know that when she gets here, I’ll be so happy to have gone through the process of carrying her and will be grateful for all the waiting, patience, and learning it took to get her here. It will have been worth it! Okay…I know you’re trying to figure out what in thee entire heck is wrong with me…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Mmmkay…so, a few weeks a
So, Travis Greene has a new album out called ‘Crossover’ (no, this is not an album promotion). I’ve listened to and enjoyed EVERY song on the album but yesterday, one song caught my attention. The song is called ‘Daddy’s Home’. Now, I’m a daddy’s girl so, only one man holds that title. I have God fathers that I LOVE, and respect but I only call my father, daddy. Other people use the term in different contexts, but we’re not talking about that today. I am 33 years old an
Diamonds….are amazing, right??? I mean, they sparkle and shine and if you get a good one (cause some of them aren’t worth what they look), it’ll cost you “a pretty penny”. When couples intend to marry, the groom to be goes looking for the “perfect” diamond to present to the lady in his life. He wants it to be the best that he can offer (you know they say that “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”). Yes, diamonds are gorgeous but they cost. Do you know how a diamond is forme
Worry Warts….don’t be one…it’s not cute! So, clearly, this post has nothing to do with actual warts…but aren’t you glad?!? Lol…who wants to read about warts? Let alone write about them. Mmmkay…background story….I was a worrier once. Yep…a worrier…I definitely don’t mean warrior! I used to worry about EVERYTHING. In fact, if I wasn’t thinking or worrying about something, I was afraid that I was forgetting something. I was your classic “worry wart”…and my case was ugly!
Today, I had a thought, so I posted it. The thought was, “Believe in YOU the way you believe in them.” I posted it, not just to get others thinking, but for myself. You see, I’m a supporter. I am REALLY GOOD at supporting people (I’ve got references). I’m good at sharing their posts, praying for them, being there for them, and at their events, and even volunteering to do stuff. I mean I am an amazing supporter (if I do say so myself). I’m also a pretty good encourager.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 Sooooo….I’ve seen a ton of memes that say something regarding coconut oil solving all problems…like the ones I’ve posted below….hence the title of this blog. LOL! Now, if all these were true, there would be a coconut oil shortage and a lot of grease stains EVERYWHERE! The news headline would say, “City in uproar as women pour coconut all over EVERYTHANG!!!” Lol. Uhhh….anyho
It’s summer time, folks! And what does everyone LOVE in the summer??? Yooouuuu guessed it…ICE CREAM!!! Now, I can’t really have regular ice cream (I’m lactose intolerant). In case you didn’t know (which you probably didn’t), my latest food obsession is Halo Top ice cream! It’s amazing because I can eat the ENTIRE pint and it’s under 400 calories AND there is protein in it, so it’s healthy; and it doesn’t make me feel like crap after I eat it. My favorite is the birthday cake
Yeah…yeah…yeah….I should have been asleep like 5 hours ago, but since I’m up….humor me………. So, in November of 2015, one of my brothers married the love of his life. 🙂 Sweet…I agree…but no, this story isn’t about them (I know you’re bummed…their wedding was GORG! but I don’t really have a story about that). Anyhoo, they were First, let me tell you something that will seem TOTALLY unrelated to this story. I had an extreme fear of driving over water. It was terrible! To th
Heeeyyyyy y’all! So, I’ve had an amazing SONday! I’ve even had my ice cream (Halo Top, birthday cake) and I’m on my couch. Okay…here’s my story….. Soooo…I sing on the praise team and in the choir at my church (Christ Church Apostolic, Indianapolis, IN…..shameless plug) and today, our colors were navy blue and white. Well, guess who COMPLETELY forgot about our uniform….I’ll give you a moment to think on it………
If you guessed me, YOU ARE CORRECT! Tell ‘em what they’ve one Johnn
Hey y’all!!! A SUPER SATURDAY to ya!!! I pray that your day is off to an amazing start and continues to be great! If it isn’t, know that I’m praying that it gets better! And. Here’s. My. Story…… Two years ago, when I began my employment for the public school system, I had to get used to being called by my sir name. Let me tell you what I mean…..you see, during each of my work experiences, I’ve always been called Alecia or Miss Alecia (by my kiddos). Every name badge, note
