Let There Be…….

We often walk around saying how bad our day is going or how life keeps going downhill…one thing after another. You ever notice that as soon as you ask something like, “what else could go wrong?”, something else (seemingly IMMEDIATELY) goes wrong??? Well, it’s because there is power in your words! Now, I’m not saying that you will get a million dollars and a Benz just by saying it so don’t blame me if it doesn’t work (but if it does, I’ll need a couple thousand…insert chuckle here….), but what I am saying is that declaring a change in your attitude and that you will allow the joy of the Lord to permeate your life will shift your atmosphere. In Genesis chapter 1, God proves to us what He later tells us in Proverbs 18:21, the tongue has power! Notice that nowhere in the first chapter of Genesis does it say that God made, handcrafted, pointed, or touched ANYTHING! The ENTIRE chapter is filled with Him “saying”.  Each lead verse says, “And God said, let there be…..”, and you know what??? there became. With only the words from His mouth, God created the entire universe and EVERYTHING in it. What am I saying to you??? I’m saying that you have the authority to SAY, “let there be……” and you can have!  You can have peace, joy, love, understanding, patience, or whatever else you need to make it through every day. My Pastor always says, “your words create your world and your attitude creates your atmosphere.”  And it’s the truth!  Most bad moods are extended because of what we say or allow others to say to us.  “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21) There is a reason that the scripture says, “…..the power of the tongue:…..” The tongue, YOUR tongue and the words that you speak or declare from it, come with force. Now, it’s up to you whether that force is of the light or dark side (I’m a Star Wars junkie…don’t judge me). “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” (James 3:5) The NLT version of the Bible says, “In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.”  This means that, although it’s one of the smallest parts of your body, it carries a lot of weight.  NEVER underestimate what you say or how you say it. I pray that you enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening and I pray that the goodness of God spills over into your Monday morning. Remember to be careful with your words…what you say of yourself and also what you allow others to speak over you. In fact, you should begin speaking now, the kind of day you plan to have tomorrow.  SPEAK LIFE!!!

Love you all!
